Asparagus Tart

I always have issues with asparagus - I just don't know how to incorporate this to my cooking. So, rather than just steam, grill or bake these green babies, I found this pastry recipe at the best timing before my asparagus about to go bad.

What you need:

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry
  • 2 cups of swiss cheese - shredded
  • 1.5 lbs asparagus
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt & pepper

What you do

  • Preheat oven to 400F. Thaw the frozen pastry sheet and lay it on the baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Using fork, pierce the dough throughout. Bake the dough for 10-15 minutes until golden
  • Take the pastry out from the oven and sprinkle the swiss cheese all over then put the asparagus on top - crisscross way
  • Grizzle the olive oil on top of the asparagus and add salt and pepper to your liking
  • Put pastry back in the oven for another 15-20 minutes.
