How do you fix this winter-bore outfits? I realized that most of my winter clothes are surrounded by dark colors - brown, grey, black, more greys, maybe few whites and that's it! How boring! Anyways here's what I like to wear on a daily basis.
Potato Tot-Topped Shepherd’s Pie
After all the snow ended in a big mess, I was ready for some comfort food. I watched one of the Rachael Ray's show the other day when I was working from home (due to the snow) and cannot wait to try this recipe - Potato Tot-Topped Shepherd’s Pie
This is a perfect comfort food let me tell you! It got meat, potatoes and cheese.. that's all you need. :)
Yummio!

Okay, I'm convinced that we're definitely on a 5-day snow system. Literally, the snow comes every 5 days. Not cool. Then it comes the icy rain and wintry mix. When does it end?
I can't wait to break out all of these heavy winter coats and boots and be free with some spring dresses and rocking them wedges on!!
Quote of the day: The amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in... enlarge your sense of things... stop being a glass.. become a lake...

It's hard to say good bye!
Today, my favorite straightening iron broke! After 4 years being non-stop savior, it finally died. Rest in peace my beloved Sedu! You made my days better for all those bad-hair day! What bad hair day???
After a panic attack in the morning getting ready for the office, I finally accepted the fact that I'll be going to work with my hair down without straightening them. Luckily most of the people in the office had an off-site meeting the whole day and my 1 pm meeting was postponed until tomorrow. So I managed to avoid as many people in the office by keeping my head down. LOL!
After an hour long of searching through out the internet, I finally went to ULTA to pick up this precious one as a replacement. Getting myself back from work, I rushed to my apartment to try out my new iron, only to find my old one still plugged into the bathroom wall. Out of curiosity, I switched the power ON and the green light lite up!! OMG!! My dead iron came back ALIVE!
I was ecstatic and started to straightening my hair on the spot. I am definitely sending the new iron back to the store. I love my Sedu, and for those of you who is looking to buy a straightening iron, I recommend this one as an investment!! 4 years baby and still going strong..

Ulta is having a 20% off in-store and on their website until the end of the month. You can get this iron here and here.
Good luck!

When I bought this product, I was so convinced that it will fix my skin to a baby's butt! The positive reviews are through the roof and I cannot imagine of being those 4-5% percentile that hated this product. I am now.
This product is so strong that it broke my skin like there's no tomorrow. I stopped using this product after 3 applications (3 nights) and unfortunately the damage is done. This box is going back to the store first thing Monday morning. So for all of you guys who wanted to try this product, please apply it once and see how it react to your skin. Do not ignore any strange reaction because it's not worth it. Once you see anything bad, stop using it immediately.
Hope this helps and if you guys have any suggestions on other products, I'll be more than happy to take a look at it. :D

I am blessed to be surrounded by lovely people in my life. As I get older, I tend to expect less and less gifts on my birthday. But these lovely people really surprised me by their gestures here and there.
My Mom recently came back from her trip to Turkey and came back with some goodies for me.

Love the flower details |
Some other things I love.. look how thoughtful my friend is... way to grind those garlic in the kitchen!
Look how gorgeous these beauties...
And lastly....

Though my birthday had passed, I never got a chance to celebrate it with my girlfriends. This is one of disadvantage of having my birthday during the holidays. It's harder to get people together since most of them are busy with their families. Can't blame them.
So, my friend finally threw me a birthday lunch this past Saturday at Jasmine. They serve asian fusion dishes including sushi rolls which I love. A bit of food porn here but I enjoyed all of the food I ordered and I'm pretty happy with the service. Definitely will come back for more.
Thanks girls, it was a fun day!

Lately, I had been craving Indian food almost on a weekly basis. I found this Indian/Pakistani take-out place near my place and fell in love with their food. The food is awesome and the place is extremely clean. Our usual order are the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Goat Briyanni along with the brick oven naans.
After a while, I was curious if I can make this in my own kitchen. Thanks to good ol' Trader Joe's, today I successfully made my first Indian cuisine at home!

1. I joined Empowered Yoga in my town for a BNB (Brand New Beginner) Program of hot yoga. I think this is the best thing that I ever done in a while. I had 3 sessions this week and I felt so rejuvenated after completing each session. The program will end at the end of January and we'll see more result then and if I wanted to continue the membership.
2. It's been snowing twice since Xmas and I wonder how many more times would snow come to visit us until the end of the winter. I'm still debating whether I should buy a snow shovel while it's still in stock in the store.
3. My friend gave me this 20% off from Philosophy and I ended up using it for their Miracle Worker's treatment. It saved me $15 for the purchase. The package came 2 days ago and I have been so lazy touch it yet. Coz I know I would have to commit to this new treatment regime for at least a month once I open it. I'll keep you posted on the result but I had read lots of raves for this product so I'm feeling positive about it.
4. This morning I just found out that my electric bill has tripled for the month of December. Shocking! But eventually we realized that the utility company never deduct the previous month's pay from our bank account (we have autopay) so we're a little bit relieved but looking at the number again still shocking.
5. I'm TRYING to start including more veggie and fruits on my diet to balance out the big meals that eat everyday. I don't like to snack, so perhaps by cutting back a bit on my main course and replacing them with fruits would help to being the healthier me.
6. I'm looking to see if anyone would be interested to join me to attend the Ultra Music Festival 2011 in Miami on March 25th - 27th. The 3-Day General Admission is now selling for $179.95. The will go up as it gets closer to the date.
That's all folks

What did you guys do on new years eve?
We ended up staying in for New Years Eve with a bottle of champagne. Pretty low key; nothing glitzy nor glamorous to celebrate. We watched few channels on TV to follow the count down in Time Square, including MTV to see Snooki went down inside a glass ball by the Jersey Shore! These people would do anything to be on camera I swear. Just look at her!
Anyways, I stopped by at the mall on new years eve because I just realized that I never redeemed my "Birthday Gift" from Sephora. This is valid only during the month of your birthday so I had to go get it. For those of you who has Sephora membership, you can get a free bottle of Philosophy all-in-one shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath from the store simply by presenting the "Birthday Gift" email you received and your member's card to the store. No purchase necessary.
I'm not sure but I heard that they change the products from time to time so depending on the Birthday Gift email they sent, you'll know what you can get. But knowing Sephora, I would take anything free from their store. LOL!
Have you been working on your new year resolution?
