LC a.k.a. Lauren Conrad from The Hills - I am a big fan of hers ever since I started watching that show. She always look classy and effortless - something that I always admire. Turns out she and few other partners up on a beauty website called "The Beauty Department". Very helpful stuff if you're into DIY and tutorials. Here's few of my favorite video tutorials:

That 50 cents

Taking my recent recipe for chicken meatballs, I decided to use red sauce this time. I'm a big fan of white sauce over pasta because red sauce tend to have that typical sour taste which I don't really like. But with the meatballs, I would say the red sauce taste better than white sauce.
Quick story for you:
I stopped by the mall the other day to pick up my usual tinted moisturizer at the MAC store. While I was checking out at the register the sales lady said, it's $30. As I was reaching to my credit card in my wallet, I pause for a good second. Then I thought...Wait, is this right? I always paid $29.50! I have been using this product for little bit over 2 years, so I know how much it is. Not that 50 cents is a big deal but I definitively acknowledge the price increase right at that moment. Part of the reason why I love this product is the price which is still below the 3.0 mark. Unless it's a skincare line where it actually "treat" your skin, $30+ is overpriced. Anyways, I didn't make a fuss and paid.
Later that day, I was craving for some chinese food and I went to my usual local take-out place and ordered my usual combo dish. The menu had $6.50, and it always been $6.50 for years. As I order the food on the counter, the old asian lady said, it's $7 now, it's that fine? .. hrr.. Yes, it's fine. (I guess).
So, what's up with the 50 cents increase? Can anyone explain it to me?
When is this recession coming to an end?
And oh yeah it's Friday today! I'm one week away from my mini vacation a.k.a labor day weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone!
xoxo

You can easily spend $25-$40 for a jewelry stand / holder like these.
But for few bucks you can have this:

Are you stuck wearing the same things over and over again? Without adding anything new, you can wear things differently. That's when styling creativity come to the equation. Check this cool video on how Chriselle style a little white dress. Very helpful.

I may have mentioned this in other occasions but not too long after the new Nordstrom open in Delaware, I found this new clothing label "RADENRORO" in the store. Obviously, I recognize the name as it is in Indonesian language, more to Javanese which translate as a woman with royal blood. Googled the name and this lady came out as the designer behind the label - Liquica Anggraini.
Check out their FW 2011 Collections
I love all the deep rich color in this collection! Such a proud Indonesian I am.

Happy Friday everyone? Anything exciting this weekend? Well for me, I'm just hoping that the weather is friendly enough to let me out. Yes, really. Can't wait to go back to the city soon especially since the heat is cooling down.
Found this set of NYC photos in 1960 via mashKulture by Charles W. Cushman. Looks like the city really haven't change much...

Sagami is most likely one of the most authentic Japanese restaurant that I've been in the area. Thanks to my friends, they took me to this restaurant about 1 hour drive from Delaware to New Jersey. Yes, it's quite a drive. Is it worth it? Absolutely. The restaurant is BYOB, so my friend Tam brought a bottle of chilled Sake with for us. KAMPAI!
Cupcake Cream Cheese Frosting

Who knows best about cupcakes than the Georgetown Cupcake ladies themselves? My all time favorite cupcake is definitely red velvet cupcake. Apart from the fluffy moist cake, what makes a perfect red velvet cupcake is obviously the cream cheese frosting. The frosting is key because without frosting, there's no cupcake. Here's a quick video tutorial on how to make a cream cheese frosting from the expert themselves. 4 ingredients and a mixer. That's all you need.
Good luck!

Happy Friday everyone. Don't you all wish it's Friday everyday? But... what if your office place is like this down below? Would you really care when will Friday comes? To me, that's debatable. Check out the Urban Outfitters HQ in Philadelphia. *day-dreaming*

On any given hot days, I can't resist on something cold and refreshing. And who can stand dealing with full blown baking fest in this sizzling weather. One way through is through a no-bake dessert called Frozen Lemonade Pie (maybe for a bit for the crust, unless you're using the frozen ones from the store). I saw this video one afternoon, and just can't wait to make it. Got all the ingredients from the store and it here's the result!

J. Crew Nails It

Often times, whenever I pay a visit to J.Crew they are very prominent with their vivid color collections. This includes perhaps incorporating a non-J.Crew brand such as ESSIE on the nail polish section within the store.
Now, looks like J. Crew is collaborating with the Swedish cosmetic company, Face Stockholm and come up with a perfect palette to be worn through out the seasons. Bright during the hot summer and subtle towards the colder days.
