I can't believe Eric is turning 5 months in a few days!! With all honesty, the past 5 months goes by in such a quick pace, that I didn’t realized Eric will soon be starting solids. How exciting!
Before I go on about solids, I wanted to share a post on different events that I had experienced during my first 3 months after giving birth.
First thing first!
Giving birth. After so many prenatal exercise sessions I attend during my pregnancy, in the end I had Eric through a scheduled C-Section due to hypertension at 38 weeks. The doctor declared that it was too risky to deliver Eric normally not able to control my tension. I started my maternity leave on week 37 and stayed home finishing all the baby preparations including getting my hospital bag ready with the essentials.
In my opinion, many mom-to-be tend to over-packed their hospital bags. In my case, I try not to.
My essentials:
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, facial wash + toner, deodorant, shampoo). Try to buy travel size bottles, if not use those empty travel set bottles and fill them with your products.
- Light make-up (powder, eyebrow pencil & mascara)
- Panties and nursing bra
- Socks
- Pads
- Cellphone + charger
- Breast pump set
- Nursing cover
As you see, I didn't bring any clothes because I'd prefer using the hospital's robe instead - it's easier to nurse as well. Also, usually the hospital will provide you with clean towel everyday.
Eric's essentials:
- Diaper bag
- 3 diapers
- 2 sets of new born baby clothes - preferably with long sleeves front opening (zipper/buttons)
- Beanie hat
- A pair of hand and feet cover
- Baby blanket
- Nursing cover
- Stroller (Keep this in the car. Use this when it's time to leave the hospital)
Most for Eric's necessities were all provided in the hospital.
So my advice is to check with the hospital on what items provided there to avoid over-packing.
I stayed in the hospital for 4 days which covers the entire C-Section surgery and recovery. I can't really say much other than it was such an unbelievable experience for me and hubs. This little peanut is finally out from my body, breathing, moving, crying..
And this is where the real adventure starts...
Xoxo
