Krabi, Thailand

Krabi34

When I first heard about the name Krabi, all I can think of is an island somewhere in Asia. But really it turns out to be only a-short flight distance away from Jakarta. Located in Thailand, Krabi is (apparently) the top destination for European tourists.

I was in Krabi essentially for a work-related trip a.k.a. Team Building event, but obviously it's stretching it quite far as we had way too much fun. From drinking, to drinking and more drinking throughout the day and night with good food, swimming, and shopping in between. The entire trip lasted for a weekend long from Friday to Sunday. A quick getaway to just have fun with nominal spending. Not too shabby!

We stayed at the Pakasai Resort. Since we came in a big group, we pretty much booked half of the entire property to cater all of us. The rooms were nice but if I have to say, the room settings were more meant for honeymooners/couples rather than being shared with colleagues and friends. The bathrooms we mostly separated by glass where there were no solid doors to block the views. You get the idea.

Other than that, it was such a FUNNNN trip!!

Revival

photo (1)

Okay, I admit I'm guilty as charged. I've been away for too long and I had forgotten what I had started on this blog last year. Shame on me. To my defense, I had been busy jet-setting to our neighboring country for work. I'm not going to get into details about my work life, but my schedule has been cray cray since February. (Noticed that my last post was back in January?). It's a major shift in my life where I got to spend my weekdays there and weekends here in Jakarta. Time consuming and exhausting to say the least where travelling by plane had lost its luxury in my book.

But here's the good news; I feel like I'm passed over the adjusting phase and pretty in sync with this whole jet-setting routine already, therefore, I think I'm ready to revive this blog for the better. I won't promise the moon but I'll try my best to post at least a weekly post. As of now, I'm going to play catch-ups for a while updating the highlights within the past 6 months.

In the meantime, Happy belated Ramadan to all my Muslim friends! We're half way there! Hope ya'll fast just fine.

Smelling Fabulous

fragrance2

To me it gets quite personal when it comes to perfumes and fragrances. I used to be a 1-perfume kinda person but along the way, I couldn't resist the other pretty bottles lining up at the perfume stores. I typically hand picked each fragrance and as always my favorite place to shop is in the duty free shops. I collected these in the past year or so and I currently rotate them every so often in my vanity shelf.

For day-time I prefer something rather light and fresh. These three below are my favorites at the moment. L-R: Marc Jacobs Lola, Miss Dior Eau Fraiche and The Body Shop White Musk Libertine

And for evenings, I like something with a deeper and sensual scent. These type of scents usually last very long throughout the evening.  L-R: Marc Jacobs Daisy, Jean-Paul Gaultier Classique and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.

What's your current perfume favorites?

On a heavier note, I hope everyone is safe and dry from the major floods that happened yesterday in Jakarta. It's very devastating to see the victims lost their houses and everything they have due to the flooding. Let's take a moment to pray for Jakarta.

Review: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine

Photobucket

Hello there, hope everyone is enjoying the second week of 2013! I wanted to share this new lipstick that joined my vanity recently. The lipstick is from Chanel and it's called Rouge Coco Shine in color # 61 Bonheur. The line carries 21 shades in total and they are currently selling for $32 each.

From what I know, this line of Rouge Coco Shine is the sheer version of Rouge Coco that came out previously over summer 2010. The texture is very smooth when I applied it to my lip; it almost turned into liquid as soon as the bullet touched my lip. It is also very hydrating (very good considering my dry-sensitive lip), however the staying power does not stay long. This is usually the problem with "hydrating" lipsticks. They are moisturizing hence very easy to take off.

As expected from Chanel's beauty products, the packaging is very classy. Coming from Chanel's logo on the top side and gold reams in the middle, the overall look is very glamorous.

I really like this shade of color specifically because it can light up my whole face with the basic natural make-up look during the day. With the beautiful packaging like this, I wouldn't mind re-applying the lipstick throughout the day.

What is your favorite shade from Rouge Coco Shine?
