Grey Lady

Last weekend I was at the mall and found this terrific grey chiffon dress from DKNY for sale. It was the only one left and as soon as I put this on, it fits me like a glove. On that note, the dress was just screaming "buy me buy me". I must buy it. What I love about this dress is on how simple the style and cut, you can literally dress it up for a night outing or dress it down with flip flops for a nice luncheon or brunch.

Terik Daging

One of my favorite Indonesian dish that my Aunt had taught me over my college days was Terik Daging. I was lucky that I had most of the ingredients on my kitchen cabinet, so here goes.

My version:
1 lbs beef (thinly sliced)
3 tbs Kokita Bumbu C
3 Indian Bay leaves
20 grams of palm sugar
1 cup of coconut milk
1 cup of water
Pinch of salt

Yum yum yum..

Tart Infinity Dress

Gilt just killed me when they featured this:

At that very moment, I knew I gotta have this in "Sangria" (the blue on the very left). Within few clicks, the dress was on its way to me. Fufufufufu...possibilities are endless.. and today it's at my door finally!

Korean Pa Jun

Last night I made Korean Pancake (Pa Jun) for dinner from this recipe.
I know this isn't in the norm for the dish, but in addition to the scallion, I added beef, turkey sausages, carrots, and celery. Basically I was just trying to put what I have in the fridge to the pancake to make it more hefty for dinner. :) Turns out awesome!

One Day in New York

Okay, I think I'm a little bit having too much fun playing with this video editing stuff. I went through all my video archives and found more clips to play with. These are a compilation of short clips when I went to New York last Summer right before Hanum left to Indonesia. We started the day with the Rooftop Bar then seeing some Gay Parade, then we end the night in the Time Square area.
Hope you enjoy this!

Miss Ring Ring

When it comes to jewelery, my favorite piece of jewelery would be on rings - hands down. My watch and and rings are my MUST HAVE daily accessories to work or anywhere else. This week, I had two items added to my collection. The first item I got was from Forever 21. This bird ring appealed to me because it's a 2-ring ring, if you know what I mean. The second one was from my mother. My dear mother was on a trip to India recently for business and she got me this beautiful semi-precious diamond shaped and bulky ring from the local market in New Delhi. I'm happy!

World Cup Weekend

The World Cup is finally over - Spain won! I was rooting for Netherlands but the day of the game, I had a gut feeling that Spain will win! After a tons of yellow and red card(s), Spain finally score on the extra time at 116 minute mark! So obvious!

My plan to the beach was cancelled when I realized it was pouring rain on Saturday morning hence I ended up going to the mall to burn time (read: money) on couple shopping spree. This type of event is practically dangerous to my bank account because when I go to the mall without good sense of direction I usually buy things I don't need. Example: I bought a silver metalic flats with studs?? WHAT? Yeah this bitch is going back to the store today. On a good note I did make necessary purchases for my skin care items.

Fuchsia

Lately I've been into this Fuchsia color. The color seems to be strong and deep yet feminine. I found this cute dress from the Urban Outfitter's sale rack for when I was in Philadelphia. Match it up with my new Essie's "Big Spender" nail polish and Nine West nude heels. Perfect! I'm ready for the weekend!

Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend :)

Bread Pudding

To start off the 4th of July, I went ahead with this lovely bread pudding recipe.
Instead of raisins, I used a cup of milk chocolate chip onto the pudding mix. The smell of cinnamon was amazing coming from the oven and my kitchen can't smell better than this :) Good way to start the day!

MAC LOVE

In the past weeks, I've been looking for a nice coral-y blush for the summer. And with the new Sephora at the mall screaming so many brand names make-up line, it doest really help me to do the job! I think I came and left the store for 2-3 times empty handed. I kept getting overwhelmed with the variety of products they have and in the end I just forgot what I came there for.

So, forget Sephora, I decided to go back to what I know for years.... MAC. As soon as I came in to the store, this lady (whom I got to know after going to the store so many times) greeted and approached me to help. The nice thing about going to MAC is that I always have this satisfied and easy feeling walking out the store with their products. This is WHY!

1. I know they're make-up experts and not just some random young girls who are hired to sell the products. They know exactly what they have in the product line and what product will work for your skin tone, type and texture as well as the application difficulties.
2. They would take their time trying / showing you the products - most of the time they would apply it to your face to see how you like it. They also TEACH you how to use the product correctly. Also, they never pressure you to buy the product on the spot.
3. Last but not least, they have a 30-day return policy for any reason. Most cases, you realized you don't like the color or the applications. For example, their mineral powder foundation, awesome product but not so much on the packaging and application - personally I think it's messy. Just bring it back and you will get your money back.
4. I love their recycling program. You can bring back any kind of 6 MAC empty make up containers / packaging to the store and you can pick a free lipstick/lipgloss or an eyeshadow of your choice! VAVOOM!

So what did I get from this MAC visit? Obviously, I got my blush! :) In addition, I got this pretty soft color eyeshadow for my summer everyday look to the office. Also, since it's the summer, I got this Tinted Lip Conditioner in pink - I love this product.. it's almost like you're applying your lip balm.. but it has that hint of color.. plus it has SPF 15. Love love love!
